Oki girls rockin’ flip-flops March 18, 2010

The Okinawa hip-hop scene appears to be alive and well, and at the center of it seems to be this group Planet Oki. A crew of MCs, DJs, dancers and graffiti artists, their mission is to share the spirit of Okinawa through hip-hop. I found them while doing MySpace research about coming here, and I dug ’em right away.
Some of them are based in New York now, but this guy Maikeru-X is still just up the road from us. Check out his song “Oki Girls.”
